Realistic Dentures Provide an Effective Replacement for Missing Teeth

Dentures are a dental prosthesis that serve as an effective replacement for multiple missing teeth. At New Jersey Dental Centers, we use digital impressions to create traditional, partial, and implant-supported dentures at our Old Bridge, NJ, practice with the utmost precision. In some cases, we can also convert traditional dentures to connect to dental implants for a more secure and better fit. Drs. Khaled Eldin or Mouner Amer will meet with you during an initial consultation to determine the right restoration for you.

Types of Dentures Available

At New Jersey Dental Centers, we provide a variety of denture options for our patients. During an exam, Dr. Edlin or Dr. Amer will review your medical history and oral health as well as perform x-rays and take digital impressions of your teeth to determine the type of denture that would benefit you the most.

Traditional Dentures

If you are missing an entire arch of teeth in your upper or lower jaw, customized dentures can be designed to match the natural shape and size of your features. Using a special adhesive, your denture will rest comfortably on top of the gums. Your prosthesis will need to be removed each night for cleaning and while you sleep.

Partial Dentures

If you are missing only a few teeth, partial dentures provide an effective and customizable solution. Your removable partial restoration will be designed to complement your smile and will typically be held in place by tiny clasps that attach to adjacent teeth. You may also use dental adhesives for additional stability.

Implant-Supported Dentures

For a more permanent solution to replacing missing teeth, a customized implant-supported restoration can be designed for an extremely durable and comfortable fit. This type of restoration require that state-of-the-art dental implant posts are surgically inserted into your jawbone to support the device. Although it requires four to six months of healing before permanently placing your restoration, an implant-supported denture is a proven and highly recommended method of treatment. Our doctors can also convert a removable denture into an implant-supported denture for a sturdier fit. To qualify for this treatment, you will need to have healthy gums and sufficient jawbone tissue to create a firm foundation for implants.

At New Jersey Dental Centers we are able to create your custom-made denture using computerized impressions and advanced fabrication techniques for an attractive, natural-looking restoration.

Benefits of Dentures

Once your denture is in place, you can notice an immediate difference in your quality of life. Having better oral health and dental function can renew your spirits and improve your daily interactions. You may find yourself smiling with ease and renewed confidence. Some of the many benefits of dentures include:

  • Restored ability to chew and eat

  • Rehabilitated speech
  • Preserved facial contours

  • Restored aesthetics with natural-looking teeth

If you choose to receive implant-supported dentures, you can experience further significant benefits. The implant posts can fuse with your jawbone, creating a permanent base for your restoration and improving your oral health.
