Braces
Misalignment can do more than make us embarrassed to smile. It can also cause serious oral health problems.
Fortunately, braces are a highly effective treatment that can straighten even the most severe cases of misalignment.
New Jersey Dental Centers serving patients across New Jersey can provide effective orthodontic solutions based on your unique needs.
The Benefits of Braces
Straighter Teeth
Straighter teeth look healthier and more attractive than crooked teeth. After your treatment, you can expect a straighter, more dazzling smile that makes you feel more confident.
Fewer Dental Problems
Because straight teeth are easier to clean, you may be less prone to decay and all the problems it can lead to. Additionally, orthodontics can give you a more even bite that puts less strain on your teeth.
Preventative Treatment
When a child receives braces in their developmental stages, the braces can help prevent more complex dental problems later in life that may prove costly to correct.
Cost-Effective
Metal braces are the least expensive orthodontic treatment to correct major misalignment. And braces are highly effective. They also help prevent dental problems that can be costly to fix.

During your consultation with New Jersey Dental Centers, one of our orthodontists will examine the position of each tooth, the alignment of the jaws, and the shape of your dental arches. Our practices have advanced imaging technology, such as digital X-rays and 3D panoramic digital imaging, that we can use to plan your treatment and determine the best way for each tooth to move into its ideal alignment.
Once your orthodontist has a better idea of your treatment plan, they will be able to provide you with an idea of how frequent your checkups will be and how long you may need to wear your braces.

Caring for Your Braces
Brush Your Teeth
Brush your teeth after every meal to ensure your braces are free of any food debris that allows bacteria to grow, causing decay. Remove any elastics from your braces and any other parts that can be removed. Use your toothbrush to gently remove any food debris from your brackets and wires, then use your toothbrush to gently clean all surfaces of your teeth.
Floss Your Teeth
Floss between each tooth once a day to maintain good oral health as you undergo orthodontic treatment. To make things easier, you can use a floss threader to maneuver around your braces. You may also consider using a water flosser.
Rinse Your Mouth
After brushing, use mouthwash or water to rinse out your mouth and then check your teeth and braces to make sure all food debris has been removed.
Monitor Your Braces
Be mindful of the condition of your braces. If you notice something's amiss or you have a popped wire, you may need to schedule an appointment with your orthodontist.
Avoid Certain Foods
While you have braces, you will need to avoid foods that are sticky and hard like taffy, popcorn, and peanut brittle. These foods can easily get stuck in your braces or damage them.
Maintaining Your Straight Teeth
/
Once your braces have been removed, you will be provided with a custom-made retainer. You may be instructed to wear your retainer for several hours each day and every night indefinitely. This retainer will hold each tooth in its new position as the jawbone heals around it, maintaining your results for years to come.

Which Orthodontic Option Is Best for Children?
Traditional braces are often the best orthodontic option for children. With removable aligners like Invisalign, the wearer is responsible for remembering to wear their aligner trays. With traditional braces, patients don't have to remember to wear their braces and they can't be misplaced.
Additionally, by adopting a routine, braces can be easy to care for. The primary concern is ensuring your child remembers to brush their teeth after every meal. After that, braces simply require periodic maintenance from one of our New Jersey orthodontists.
Children as young as eight can be eligible for braces.

7 months ago, My twins have been going here for braces since 2017. They are amazing when it comes to braces. I brought my son to a dental office for braces before and He always complained so I am always skeptical of choosing a place for my kids. Both of my twins have very sensitive teeth so any pain would hurt them and they havent complained at all. At first they were a little too tight and they adjusted it so it still performs while making it comfortable for my child. My children now have beautiful teeth. We just finished our follow up after the retainers and looks like we just need checkups! Everyone has healthy teeth now , thank you everyone.
View on GoogleChoosing to visit this dental office was one of the best decisions I’ve made with my health. I stared my braces back on 09/15/2018 and I am on month away from having the perfect smile I’ve always wanted. I am so happy and impressed with the work and quality of the treatment. Doctor Elden, assistant Eva, and the rest of the staff have always been very professional and kind. I’ve recommended my mother to come and get her dental work done here. She started her implants work today! If you are looking for a dental office that’s professional and also personal this is the right place! Thanks guys!
